American Flag Succulent Arrangement
Hey party people!
Hope you are loving your fourth of July! Today I wanted to share with you what I made for this awesome day of Independence with awesome succulents. This project took me less than half and hour and will last for weeks if I want it too! Here is a video or text version for whichever you feel more comfortable with!
American Flag Succulent Mini Palette Tutorial
To get started I took popsicle sticks and cut off the round little knobs on the ends to make nice rectangles.
Then I used the first one to cut the rest the same length. I laid two pieces flat and glued two more pieces perpendicular to the others but on the skinny side coming out towards me.
Then I connected them together by laying one on top and one on the bottom perpendicular to those ones! Then glued three in evenly spaced lines on one side.
Once that is all dry I flipped it over and glued one touching the backs of the other side to connect them all together down the middle.
I glued a middle beam across and one below that, but then for the top half I cut one of the sticks in half and used one piece going vertical to make the top half into two squares and the other piece to meet that one.
Now you have yourself a mini American flag palette.
I then filled it all up with Sphagnum moss and topped the ends off with another popsicle stick to keep the moss in.
Then I planted and glued the succulents into the moss! (Don’t worry the glue doesn’t hurt the succulent) With any luck these succulents should grow some roots and survive for awhile with some watering! To water this just fill a little bowl up with water and set it in there to soak for 10 minutes. Put it somewhere the water the drain off and then put it back on your display! Now you have yourself an American flag succulent mini palette.
