Succulent Easter Eggs!

These succulent Easter eggs are perfect to add to any table centerpiece for Easter or spring and a perfect craft to enjoy this weekend. I think dying eggs before using them as planters would also make the perfect succulent Easter egg.

Succulent Easter Egg Supplies

Succulent Easter Egg Steps

  1. Crack the egg at 3/4 of the way up. Take your time, tap egg on a hard surface and rotate all the way around(shown in video). You want to keep as much eggshell as possible.
  2. Clean eggshell and let it dry.
  3. Hot glue in small pieces of sphagnum moss into the dry eggshell.
  4. Cut propagated succulent babies from roots and remove any dead leaves
  5. Hot glue succulent babies into the sphagnum moss.

Succulent Easter Egg Tips

  • Hot glue does not harm the succulent. Succulents will root into the moss and grow happily there. Don’t cover the whole succulent stem in hot glue to let the roots form.
  • DO NOT WATER succulents until 3 days after making a cutting. The succulent cutting will absorb water and rot.
  • To water, run under a sink until egg reservoir is filled. Let sit for 30 minutes and then dump the rest of the water out. Do this once a week.
  • When choosing succulents, make sure you watered them at least three days before cutting to ensure optimal root growth afterward.

I hope to see your succulent Easter eggs this weekend and spring. If you post them on Instagram, tag me in your photo! I would love to see all of your creations! @angelsgroveco
