Back To School Succulent Teacher Gift

Back To School Succulent Teacher Gift

Aloe! Welcome to Angels Grove. I know that it is almost time to go back to school so today I am showing you how to make a super simple teacher gift that is unique and one they will love! I personally don’t have a kid but I have received requests on something for teachers and I think you are going to like it. This is quick, easy, and budget friendly.

🍎Supplies for your Teacher Gift

  • Pot-I used terra cotta, you could also use plastic, whichever works!
  • Chalk Paint any color-I used Truffle to match the decor
  • Paint pen/Chalk pen fine tip
  • Succulent Dirt
  • Paint brush
  • Top dressing (this link will bring you to one, but the Dollar Tree also has some great options

🍎Choosing A Succulent for A Teacher Gift

Don’t choose just any succulent to give to your teacher. Give them one that will perform well in their classroom. Haworthias are great choices as they don’t rot easily and don’t stretch fast towards the sun. This will last the longest and perform well even in the classrooms where there isn’t much light. Some other good options could be the string of pearls, lithops (because they look like brains), jade, or a houseplant.

🍎Teacher Gift

There really isn’t much to it! Paint the terra cotta pot with your chalk paint with a dry paintbrush, this will give a rustic effect. Let it dry. Draw on the teacher’s name or some encouraging notes alongside the pot. In my example, I then just went around and polka dotted the pot to give it a little subtle texture that I really like. Plant up your succulent using fast draining soil and top with your top dressing to make it look more professional and clean. And that is it!

I hope you enjoyed this idea for a quick and easy back to school project! I love how mine looks. Don’t forget to love on your kid’s teachers this year as they are pouring all they have into your kid.
